Match Report - Fylde Community Football Club

Entering our third league fixture with a 100 percent record, the squad were in good spirits. Preparations were thorough, the standards were clear, and once the team talk was complete, the focus turned fully to the task ahead.
The opening stages were positive, with good ball retention and some well worked passing sequences. Against the run of play, a powerful effort struck the crossbar and rebounded to a Fylde attacker, who converted to give the opposition the lead.
The response was excellent. Sessions continued to press with intensity and commitment across the pitch. A free kick just outside the box presented an opportunity, and Chris Glynn stepped up to deliver a superb strike, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance to level the score at 1 1.
Momentum stayed with us as the team kept pushing forward, creating chances and maintaining high energy levels throughout. Persistence paid off as we moved into a 2 1 lead. Shortly after, with a player down and play continuing, we were briefly caught short defensively, allowing Fylde to score twice in quick succession.
Half time score 3 3.
A few tactical adjustments were made at the break. The second half was competitive and scrappy at times, with chances at both ends. With eight minutes remaining, a final change was made, and it proved decisive. Liam Orr showed composure to find space and calmly finish, securing the winning goal. The team defended resolutely to see out the match, winning the second half 1 0 and keeping a clean sheet.
This was a true team performance, with every player giving maximum effort from start to finish. Credit to the whole squad for their commitment and resilience.
